I cannot login. What should I do?
Firstly, make sure that your password is correct. Go to the lost password page and request that a new password be sent to you. Then try logging in with this new password. Secondly, make sure that your browser is configured to accept cookies, and that javascript is enabled. If that fails, use the contact link at the bottom of this page and we will try to help you.
I've lost my password. How do I recover it?
You cannot recover your password. Instead, you may request that a new one be sent to you. You can then login with this new password and change your password to something you can remember. To do this, visit the lost password page.
How do I change my password?
You may change your password by visiting your edit profile section. Then click on the password section (the lock).
What is a salute?
Occasionally, some people steal other people's pictures and try to pass them off as their own pictures. A salute is a way of trying to prove that you are who you claim to be. By providing a salute, you let others know that you are real. A salute is not required to be a member of this website. It is optional.
Can I change my salute picture?
Yes, simply visit the salute page again and upload a different picture. The salute page is here.
I've used up all of my picture space. Can I get more?
Absolutely! You can get a potentially unlimited amount of space by inviting your friends to join ShowMyPro. If they sign up, you will receive 50kb of extra picture space for each person that signs up. Check out this page for more details.
How do I delete my account?
If you're 100% sure that you don't want to be a member of ShowMyPro anymore, then you may delete your account by visiting the delete page. Deleting your account is permanent, and you will not be able to recover your account once it is gone.
How do I add or delete someone from my friends list?
To add someone to your friends list, visit their profile and click on the 'Add As Friend' button. To delete someone from your friends list, visit your friends section and click on the delete image underneath their name.
How do I add or delete someone from my ignore list?
To add someone to your ignore list, visit their profile and click on the 'Add To Ignore' button. To delete someone from your ignore list, visit your ignore section. Then click on the 'My Ignore List' link and click on the delete image underneath their name.
Profile
Can I decorate my profile?
Yes. You may use HTML or CSS to make your profile look like you want it to. If you don't know HTML or CSS, then you can use codes you've found somewhere on the internet, or use the ShowMyPro Profile Wizard.
How do I put a background image on my profile?
You can put a background on your profile using the ShowMyPro Profile Wizard.
If you only want a background and don't need the wizard, then you can do something like this.
Firstly, your background image must be uploaded somewhere on the internet, and you must have a link to it.
Then add this code to your profile:

How do I put music on my profile?
You may find a music video code from somewhere, and use that code on your profile.
If you have a song on your computer that you want to put on your profile.. then you must upload it somewhere on the internet and get the link to it. Then read this for more information.
Why do my subpictures appear at the bottom of my page instead of on the right?
This is a very common problem that is also very easy to fix. It is caused by bad coding.
What happened is that your code is missing an </div> tag. Any time that you see <div> in your code, there must be an </div> to match it. Here are some examples:
Good code: <div>Hi, my name is bob!</div>
Bad code: <div>Hi, my name is bob!
Often times, music video codes or picture codes are missing an </div> tag.
My profile appears to start loading, then stops. Why?
This happens when you use CSS and forgot to close the style tag. Put </style> at the end of your CSS and your profile should work perfectly.
Why does my profile take forever to load, or freeze my browser?
Often times, this is caused by music on your profile. The music can take a while to load and effect the loading time of your entire profile.
Ratings
My rating is high enough to be on the top 10 list. Why aren't I?
You must have accumulated 50 votes to make the top 10 lists or be on the 'top' page. You can tell how many votes you have by going to your profile and looking in the stats section.
How many votes do I need to make the toplists?
50 or more.
Can I tell who rated me or what I was rated?
No. No information is recorded on who you rated or who rated you. We simply calculate the rating based on what you were rated. Some people may speculate that you rated them because they see that you recently visited their profile. However, they can never be sure.
How often can people rate me, or how often can I rate other people?
Members can rate other members once per day. The ratings are reset at 12:00 AM Eastern Standard Time.
How do I turn my ratings on or off?
You can turn your ratings on or off by visiting your edit profile section and clicking on the 'Info' section.
Please be aware that if you turn your ratings off, your current rating will be reset.
Forums
What are the forums?
The ShowMyPro forums are an online message board. All members of ShowMyPro can talk about various topics, or even create new ones. The forums are a great way to express your opinion, and make new friends while doing so.
How do I use the BBCode buttons in the forums?

What do I do if someone harasses me in the forums?
Put them on ignore. You can do this by visiting their profile and clicking on the Add To Ignore button. Then you will no longer see their forum posts. If it continues, contact a forum moderator.
What are the lengths of the forum bans?
First offense is a warning and you will not be banned. After that, the next three offenses are one day bans from the forums. 5th offense is a one week ban. 6th is a one month ban. And the 7th is a permanent ban. Creating accounts while under a ban will result in an immediate permanent ban.

What are the forum ranks?
The forum ranks are an indication of how much you post in the forums. The higher your post count, the cooler name you'll get. Currently, the forum ranks are as follows:

- 25,000 - 29,999 - Legend
- 20,000 - 24,999 - Icon
- 15,000 - 19,999 - Superlative
- 10,000 - 14,999 - Supreme
- 5,000 - 9,999 - Ultra

- 500 - 999 - Standard
- 200 - 499 - Junior
- 100 - 199 - Beginner
- < 100 - Newcomer

Why doesn't chat open for me?
The chat is configured to open in a new window. Please disable your popup blockers. If you don't have any popup blockers, then make sure it isn't down in your task bar after you click on it.
