I saw it last night at 10pm. Didn't get home 'til about 2:30am, had work at 8am. Totally fuckin' worth being completely zonked at work all day. Awesome movie.

Just got back not long ago from seeing it. Great movie. Everyone else has said everything about the movie.

I do however want to say. I still hate the look of the batmobile.

I'm scared of the answer. Its slightly a "make or break" for the series now. If the new guy isnt as good it may drag down the rest of the film.

Easy answer.

They don't.

No actor could ever fill the shoes of Heath's portrayal (especially after his untimely death).
...in this series of films anyway.

So, what do they do?
Simple.
Move on.

The world of Batman is filled with an unlimited number of villains.
Penguin. Riddler. Catwoman. Clayface. Mr. Freeze. Killer Croc.
Even the return of Two-Face.
And those are just a handful of many villains.

They could easily make reference to the Joker in future films (as being locked up in Arkham of whatnot), but I doubt you'll see the character come back in any.
Especially, produced and directed by Nolan, and starring Bale.

Years down the line, if they ever do another series of Bat movies... that's when you may see the return of the Joker to the silver screen.
But, I can almost guarantee he's done for good in this series of Batman films.

That sucks though because the joker and batman... complete each other lol. No villain measures up to that.

So as easy as it is to ignore him and say he's locked up now, it sucks because he was a dynamic character that would keep the movies entertaining and show the scary side of an average person. No powers, or fear serum or anything. Just crazy scary or vice versa. Sad

But that would be a continuity problem for real fans. The joker and batman had a much more epic relationship/rivalry/(idk what to call it) then just one huge stand off. Especially when they are tryin to build a fan base after the batman franchise blew it before. Joker is the type of villain to bring the crowds.

Fair point. Conversely, the average moviegoer may grow weary, and feel cheated, if they see the same villain over, and over, again. It's a totally different medium, when compared to its source material.

Also a fair point but keep the joker interesting maybe pair him with another villain if absolutely necessary. As long as he can keep it fresh, and with that type of character you have at least another movie of doing so, you keep that type of evil around.
