:/ I was just thinking the other day that there isn't anything super special that stands out about me ... but I'm sure someone could tell me otherwise.

We're always hard on ourselves. Feel better + come back when you're ready.

Every day. Usually in a more universal scope, though.

And it's filled with people who are filled with shit.

But not for long...

It's actually a completely normal question. Good fuckin' job being considerate for three seconds.

I wish I knew, then I wouldn't hate myself and cut my wrists while having a noose around my neck listening to "Adam's Song" on repeat.

How's THAT for being emo?

Lol he may have cared to himself in silence for those 3 seconds.

Anywho yea I'm sure literally everybody gets down on themselves and ponders their own purpose and reason for being.

If you're calling Coheed emo, you just said the wrong thing.
If high-pitched singing means "emo", then by all acounts, Queen was emo, as well as any other band who had a lead singer that has a nice vocal range.

I used to think this all the time and I know people are gonna complain about me saying it was an emo phase, but it really was. I felt like nothing mattered and all I wanted to do all day was sleep and forget everything.

Then it kinda just went and I started to love myself. I guess, different strokes for different folks, I'd be a liar to say it was completely gone because I still think it from time to time but who doesn't have a bad day here and there.

I've thought about it. Not in a negative way, just in a realistic way.

I'm not special. Nothing special about me. Smart? If I talk theory with a hardcore physicist they'll smoke me. Talk plumbing with a plumber? Same deal. That's OK with me.

Tough? I die just as fast as anyone from the same things. Realization of that is what has kept me alive this long despite some of the shit I have had to face. Cocky wanna be tough guys get less guarded and have a tendency to apply that total lack of realism to a situation... and that idiotic bravado gets them killed. We can't be omnipotent, just a bit smarter than our advesaries. Cool is not equal to smart.

As shown above... acceptance of our mediocrity can REEEEEALY beneficial. It's ok to be ordinary. Take it from 100% of the human population. That's all they ever were.

I think the closest things we have to super powers? Our minds and our influence in this world. Make them both good, make them both strong.

As for me, I'd just be happy to be a reasonably likable jackass with a reasonably good heart, reasonably intelligent, reasonably physically capable.

Oh! Well. Guess I'm reasonably happy. Wink

Everyone goes through the same problems, some worse than others, some not so bad. Some are prettier, some are thinner. But obviously we were put on this planet for a reason...but I don't know why, yet.

This is just another enigma in ones own life; self worth. I think everyone has pretty much said what needs to be said on this topic.

But it is fun to sometimes not know what's going to happen, it leaves room for excitement and exploration in your life.

And to tell you the truth, we all are here because, simply, we are just here. We make the special things happen for ourselves, but the fact we are put here on this earth is just to live our lives.
