Why I hate on iPod? Overpriced, overrated, that wheel circle thing confuses me, and everyone I know who has one it malfunctions in less than a year. My friend has been through 3 of them since last winter. Also, everything Apple makes, just in general is excessively overpriced.

...They're competitively priced, now, especially considering their hardware. Mine's been running beautifully for...three years, now. Only replaced the original headset two months ago.

iRivers have been out as long as iPods have, and are far from knockoffs. They even used to cost more.

Fuck. You. Sad

Rogers employees are contractually restricted from obtaining iPhones until Apple (I assume) lifts the ban. How does someone even more directly related to the product gain access? You sure it's allowed?

I wasnt referring to the iRiver as the knockoff. I just meant that at the mall here, little kiosks sell knockoffs of all types. Usually an 8 gig max that also plays video files and they are close to 100 bucks give or take idk I never even hear em.
I've never even seen an iRiver just know about it because a video game used it as its music player thing.

I figured it was because of all the other moderately bizarre rules and clauses they put in place. Like how we can't call it the iPhone.

Not supposed to. If an Apple spy (it's what they are!) hears us say "the", and not correct ourselves, we run the risk of fucking the contract for the whole country.

"Selling the brand, not the product." Even the guy who did our training called it "iPhone". It disgusts me, how grammatically incorrect it is.

Which makes it unbelievably unfair, and may warrant a question/complaint.

Also, don't iPods not accept WMA files, and don't you have to use iTunes to sync?

I got iTunes once because I didn't know what it was. It wouldn't play half my files and even if I reset Windows Media Player as my default, every now and then, iTunes would make itself the default. It also seems to use more memory than WMP, but I could be wrong. To get rid of iTunes completely took getting a new hard drive.

It doesn't take getting a new harddrive to remove iTunes completely.
Clearly you don't know how to work your computer.
iTunes doesn't use more memory than WMP.

Yes you use iTunes to sync an iPod, and it's the easiest way ever to manage your music.

Before you try you try to hate a product, you should actually take a look at it. And not just hate it because you think Apple is overpriced.

ALSO.
iTunes converts the wrong file formats so they do play in iTunes.
It's idiot proof.

Okay. Answer me this: for an iPod, can you open it in My Computer as a drive, then drag and drop from My Music?

Why wouldn't iTunes play a good portion of my files but WMP would?

Why is it that everyone I know never had an iPod last for more than 6 months?

Because they don't take care of their shit.
Apple puts a yr warranty on. So it shouldn't matter if they fuck it up after 6 months. And you can add another yr of warranty.

And if you're dragging and dropping through my computer, you're dumb.

iTunes has to convert the files.
You click on the song.
Click advanced at the top.
And convert selection.

Lol you're stupid.

iTunes converts EVERYTHING for you.
Automatically.
Offers you a store where you can purchased whatever content you want.
TV shows.
Movies.
Music videos.
Albums.

You can get iPods with GPS, Maps, Stocks, Weather.
some of them could probably wipe your ass if you wanted it to.

You can access Wi-Fi signals, use VPN.
Wireless sync to other devices, computers, Mac or PC.

You can get up to 160g of space for a reasonable price.

They have great warranties. Cover everything but accidental damage.

If you wanted to know about a decent MP3 player, then iPod is more than decent.

If you didn't want our opinions, consult your priest next time.

You dont even have to do that.
When you drag the songs into iTunes, it automatically asks if you want to convert the files.

Well, what if I don't want to use their store? I got a free trial (like 1 or 2 songs on this thing I got from work) of their store and it sucks - everything I tried to search for gave me no results.
