I just got a new cell (HTC Touch). I love it and all, but I can't get my internet to work on it.

Every time I try to bring up IE, I get this:

Cannot Connect
Dialed: #777
Your username or password is wrong. To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap Settings. If the problem continues, turn the device off and try again.

Ooook, I've tried turning it on/off several times already. I was never assigned a username or password so I don't know what they're talking about.
And Alltel is fucking closed to idk what to do. Anyone know anything?

There's something on the bottom left for signing up for an account, so mabe you need one to activate your internet use? Unless you've already done that

Pretty much what Shawn said.
Does your plan include internet?

Also, is there a way to even access your password/username?
I would assume your username would be the last four digits of your number and password may be last four digits of your SSN.

That's how my old company worked and Verizon is somewhat similar.

did you just activate it?

i know sometimes whoever activates your phone usually tells you your data might not work for up to ten days.

I have a HTC touch Nuetral I don't like the fact that I can't tell if I'm pushing the right buttons when txting.

I got it fixed. When the lady activated it, she told me that for the first 1-2 days, the internet may cut in and out (which it did, obviously). I called tech support and they told me that my username and password were ready or something...gave me the info, and now it works. Smile

And yea that's the only thing I'm not super crazy about - texting. It's so hard to do while driving. Sad I love the transcribe feature on it, though. I usually just use the T9 keypad while texting; it's what I'm used to.
