desensitization can occur. Where you do it too much and you lose libido.

That's about the only thing I can think of that would be harmful. But I'm not a doctor.

I don't think of it as addictive, but someone could be addicted. People with depression issues are believed to masturbate more frequently as it is a form of gratification and a temporary lift, and some folks are more hormonally geared towards it. God knows it's a minor miracle I didn't set the sheets on fire from friction when I was 12, lol. Teenage years tend to be the heavy point for guys into early 20's.

There is a desensitization issue yeah, becoming used to a certain amount of pressure a female's body doesn't provide along with an intellectual desensitization from porn where you have seen so many bodies it becomes almost commonplace and you look for kinkier gratification such as lesbianism etc. and your partner may not be bisexual and so on.

So yes it can lead to forms of sexual dysfunction.
